Led by violinist Aisslinn Nosky and gambist Sarah Stone, we will trace the French Baroque dance tradition that shaped Bach's musical language. From Rebel's witty character dances and Rameau's elegant harpsichord trios to Couperin's grand Les Nations and Jacquet de la Guerre's suite of dances, the program interweaves Bach's own French-influenced works into a program that moves between courtly elegance and virtuosic fire.
