About this Event

DO YOU WANT TO TALK?

Talk for Health Cafés are open to those who have already attended one of our Tasters or Specials. They provide a safe confidential space where you can come as you feel - you are perfect just the way you are. Haven’t been to a Taster? Click here to see our full list of Tasters and to sign up.

This Cafe is hosted by the Free Space Project, and held on the first Monday of the Month, 5-7 pm - EXCEPT bank holidays, as the building is closed.

It´s held at Kentish Town Health Centre, 2 Bartholomew Road, NW5 2BX

- Near the southern end of Bartholomew Road: the building on the corner of Bartholomew Road and Bartholomew Villas, with the entrance in Bartholomew Villas

- In the Gym room: second door on the right, just inside the entrance, and sign-posted - you don’t need to go as far as the Health Centre reception/waiting area

Re Covid-19:

- Please do not attend if you have cold-like or flu-like symptoms, or have been in contact with someone with Covid-19- you are encouraged to do a Covid-19 lateral flow test on the day of the Cafe if you can, and not attend if your test is positive-

- Please wear a face mask when you enter the Health Centre, and when you leave the Cafe and walk out through the Health Centre

Cafés are our monthly peer-support groups. They don’t actually take place in Cafes (although there will always be tea and biscuits!) Instead, our Cafes are located in closed venues which provide a safe space for sharing. Our Cafes are structured time: everyone will have equal amount of time to share and respond, using the Talk for Health feedback techniques that you started to learn in the Taster session. Sign up is easy, and the groups run on the same day of the week each month (e.g. the 3rd Friday, or 2nd Monday).

You will learn to take care of your emotional health and lift your own and others’ wellbeing through truthful talking and empathic listening. At a Talk for Health Café led by a trained Talk for Health facilitator, you will learn the skills to be able to:

- Talk honestly

- Be listened to without judgement

- Share stories

- Form new connections

Once you’ve attended at least 6 Cafés for 6 months, or completed the full Talk for Health Programme, you’ll be a Talk for Health graduate! This means that you’ll be eligible to attend further leadership trainings and our ‘Chair and Share’ peer support groups.

If you have any questions, or are unable to sign-up using Eventbrite, please call or text 'call me' on 02034 093201 or email [email protected].

We apologise for the inconvenience, but for legal reasons under eighteens, babies, and animals will not be permitted to attend.
