The Foundry Sings Holiday Singalong

The Miners Foundry Cultural Center is pleased to present the Holiday installment of The Foundry Sings on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Bar and Doors are at 5:30 p.m. and the Singing begins at 6:00 p.m. The Miners Foundry offers a no host full bar with snacks available for purchase. The rafters of the Stone Hall will ring!

Join us for a delightful evening of holiday songs to get you in the mood for the season!

Rod Baggett, the retired choral conductor at Nevada Union High School will lead voices unified in song, supported by the precision guitar playing of Jonathan Meredith and Tim Yamauchi.

This unique countrywide experience aims to gather people of all ages and singing levels under one roof to share in the power of song. The Foundry Sings is inspired by the popular Choir! Choir! Choir!, a weekly drop-in singing event based in Toronto, Canada, which as attracted professional musicians such as Patti Smith, David Byrne, and Rufus Wainwright to sing with the group.

The Foundry Sings!

When attendees arrive, they are given a lyric sheet to the song selection. Attendees do not need to know how to read music, Rod Baggett and Jonathan Meredith will teach vocal arrangement and lead practice. At the end of the evening everyone joins together to sing the song. The performance is filmed and posted on YouTube. Everyone has a grand time and goes home feeling great!

The quarterly event is a fundraiser for the Miners Foundry Cultural Center's building improvement fund. Special thanks to Dignity Health for sponsoring this event. For 165 years the historic Miners Foundry Cultural Center has been the hub of arts, culture, and community in Nevada County. Each year over 400 events are hosted in our beautiful halls including signature events presented by the Miners Foundry. Individually, these events represent how diverse the arts are in our community, and together they make up the rich cultural fabric we have come to enjoy for generations. Membership supports ongoing events at the Miners Foundry such as these and many others. Thank you!
