Abandoned history and adventure - this is the definition of this day trip where we will learn the secrets of the forts on the outskirts of Bucharest, built more than 120 years ago by King Carol I, the first King of Romania. This is an adventurous walking tour, you must have appropriate footwear and "sacrificial" clothing (yes, we will get a little dirty).
Meeting time: 10:00 am. The meeting point and the arrival point are the same: the National Opera in Bucharest (Opera Square), at the entrance to the Opera, at the ticket office (it is a pleasant place, sheltered from the rain). Very close to the meeting place is the EROILOR metro station (Lines M1, M3, M4). We remain at your disposal by phone and internet for any clarification. The guide's phone number is sent privately.
To reach our fort:
- step 1 = we will take the metro from Eroilor station (the guide can help you pay for the trip, upon request);
- step 2 = we will take the local bus (the guide can help you pay for the trip, upon request);
- step 3 = we will walk a path of 3 kilometers through an open field, until we find the mysterious and unguarded access of our fort;
- step 4 = we will advance without problems through the fort, helped by a flashlight (if you don't have one, don't worry, we bring one);
- step 5 = we take the exact same route to Bucharest's Opera Square (arrival is approximately at 17:00).
The participation fee for this walking tour is 29 EUR.
The fare can also be paid in lei (RON) at the exchange rate of the day.
Payment can be made both by bank transfer (yes, we also have Revolut), and by payment on the spot, with card or cash. The fee is fully refundable if you can no longer participate. Registration is mandatory for this trip. To sign up, please send an email to [email protected] with the name of the trip, the date it takes place and your full and real name. Afterwards, we can stay in touch on Whatsapp, Viber or even by phone.
We recommend that you have a food package with you, as time will not allow us to stop at a restaurant. How nice would it be to have a picnic together, in the heart of the fort, with what we brought from home?
