The Forager's Almanac: AWAKENING

The first stirrings after winter - tender new growth breaking through bare ground and hedgerow. Awakening is the opening session of The Forager's Almanac, our year-long seasonal foraging course through Cornwall's woodland and hedgerow.

This is a full day out, not a short walk. We spend the morning foraging together, then spend the afternoon turning what we've found into a shared, late lunch - real cooking and preparation skills, not just a taste.

We won't give you a species list here. Part of what makes a seasonal session worth doing is arriving without foreknowledge and discovering what late winter into spring has decided to offer this particular week.

A note on venue: this session is based at Scorrier Estate, near Redruth - but the wild larder doesn't always wait where we'd like it to. We may move the venue to wherever the harvest is at its most bountiful that week. You'll know the plan in good time before the day.
