This highlights not one, but two complete Pink Floyd albums – indeed, the two that are considered by legions of their fans to be the band’s most important works. After kicking off the evening with side one of Animals, The Floyd Effect performs the whole of Wish You Were Here. The second set then features a complete, unbroken performance of perhaps the greatest album of all time, Dark Side Of The Moon, as well as other tracks lovingly recreated from Pink Floyd’s acclaimed live shows.
The timing of this concert is not an accident. It’s exactly fifty years since Dark Side Of The Moon was released, yet it remains as relevant today as it ever was. From its instantly recognisable introduction to the iconic heartbeat that closes the album, it speaks to people across three generations like no other music from the past five decades.
