The Flowers We Deserve by The People's Poets @ The Joint

“The Flowers We Deserve” presented by The People’s Poets, is a new event series honoring published authors of color in our community. We hope to inspire and support poets entering into the world of literary publication.

This event will honor four local Black women published authors: Brianna Renae, Jae Nichelle, Lovelee Lundy, and Camille T. McDaniel. This event will be a showcase and panel. Each author will perform 15 minutes of poetry and at the end we will give each one their flowers.

After the showcase segment, all four authors will sit down for a short discussion panel. The panel will center questions around the process of getting published as a Black woman poet. We will then allow the audience to ask the poets questions.

Doors open at 3:45pm. 3:45pm-4:45pm will be a social hour with tunes from DJ Ashe and a photobooth from Glow Babe Photo Booth. Drinks and small bites will be available as well! This is an all ages event and everyone is welcome to support our artists.
