This is the inaugural meetup for folks interested in joining a new social club dedicated to coordinated, wholesome weirdness in public spaces!
The Guild does not film anything themselves, there is no content monetization, no pressure to perform, and no expectation of extroversion.
The Guild is about gentle surrealism, camaraderie, and consensual collective oddity.
Our Guild Master will provide an explanation of the Guild’s purpose, tone, and guiding ethos.
The three rules of Guild play will be introduced:
Be strange but not stressful.
Be playful but not mocking.
Be disruptive only in the sense that a soap bubble is disruptive.
The Guild Master will share examples of the kinds of activities planned, so folks can feel the vibe without worrying about being put on the spot right away.
We will be doing Show & Tell as an icebreaker together, so please bring your favorite family-friendly item from home to show and tell to the Guild.
We will talk about how the Guild works, what kinds of outings are planned, and what role members can take. At the end, we will decide on a plan and schedule for our first few acts of public whimsy.
Guild activities are non-disruptive, consent-conscious, and meant to add confusing delight to public life, not confusion that could escalate. Joining does not require extroversion, we only ask that you bring commitment to kindness, weirdness, and creativity.
Everyone will be invited to toss out their own ideas for wholesome, strange acts.
Before the first meetup, think about “What would amuse you to see a group do in public that wouldn’t actually make anyone uncomfortable?”
Bring some ideas with you if you already have some!
