About this Event
The First Dragon Salon
The Dragon Salon experience was created by Visionary Artist, Author, and Filmmaker Heather Meglasson, whose work celebrates the courage, vision, and creative leadership shaping people's lives into living masterpieces.
Meglasson is the author of the forthcoming book Riding Dragons: Desire, Fulfillment and the Art of Becoming Significant, and the creator of the documentary film Masterpiece of Resilience: The Art of Becoming, recently released to the international film festival circuit.
Dragon Salons are intimate gatherings where accomplished and thoughtful individuals come together to celebrate the visions they are already stepping into and the remarkable paths they are shaping through their work and lives.
Through conversation, reflection, and a touch of ritual, the evening creates space for guests to recognize the desires guiding their next chapters and to witness one another in the courage it takes to bring those visions into the world.
In Collaboration with Be Creative Zone
This inaugural Dragon Salon is hosted in collaboration with Be Creative Zone, an eco-art nonprofit dedicated to creative reuse and sustainable artistic practices.
Founded by artist and community leader Kristi Stone, Be Creative Zone transforms reclaimed materials into imaginative works of art while championing environmental responsibility and creative innovation.
In celebration of this shared spirit of creative possibility, guests will participate in a special hands-on experience crafting small dragon artworks using reclaimed materials. Each guest will leave with their own unique piece, a symbolic reminder of the creative forces shaping their lives.
The Evening Experience
Throughout the evening, guests will:
• experience a short reading from Heather Meglasson's forthcoming book Riding Dragons
• encounter three Dragons that illuminate the desires shaping our lives
• share reflections and meaningful conversation with fellow guests
• witness those who feel inspired to make a Dragon Declaration about the direction they are choosing to ride
Dragon Declarations are moments of celebration where guests name a vision or goal they are stepping into while the room bears witness with encouragement and applause.
Guests who choose to make a declaration will receive a small keepsake to carry with them as a reminder of the path they named.
What to Expect
The evening unfolds over three relaxed hours and includes:
• a welcoming reception with sparkling wine and light hors d'oeuvres
• a Hall of Dragons installation featuring original work by Heather Meglasson
• a guided experience introducing three Dragons and the desires they reveal
• thoughtful conversation with fellow guests
• a hands-on creative activity using reclaimed materials
• opportunities for Dragon Declarations and meaningful connection
Select moments from the evening may also be captured as part of the growing story of Dragon Salons and Meglasson's ongoing storytelling work.
Each reservation includes a digital copy of Riding Dragons, Meglasson's forthcoming book exploring desire, identity, and the journeys we ride as we shape our lives.
Arrive as Your Dragon Self (Optional)
Guests are warmly invited, if it feels fun or meaningful, to arrive as their Dragon Self—the version of themselves that already embodies the vision they are stepping into.
This doesn't mean a costume.
It might simply be:
• a color you feel powerful wearing
• a piece of jewelry that represents your story
• an outfit that feels bold, expressive, or deeply you
A Hall of Dragons photo space will be available throughout the evening for those who enjoy capturing meaningful moments.
Guests are equally welcome to arrive exactly as they are.
