Ruthmere Museum is thrilled to announce a NEW opportunity for world-class musicians to compete for a distinguished prize - the Annual Ruthmere Solo Strings Competition! This new endeavor seeks to find the newest prodigy in wood and strings: violin, viola, cello, bass, mandolin, or guitar.A panel of three judges, all doctors of music and string artists themselves, will select the top six to compete in person in the Ruthmere Game Room on Saturday, April 4. The gifted winner will receive a check for $1000 and an opening performance in the 2026 Spring Concert Series on Thursday, April 23. Second- and third-prizes of $300 and $200, respectively, will also be awarded.
The competition is open to the general public. Seats are only $5, so don’t wait! Seating is limited. Finalists and their performance times are TBD. Doors open at 11 am and the competition begins at noon.
