The Finding Aid presents Lesbian Avengers Eat Fire, Too

“The fire will not consume us. We take it and make it our own.” In October 1992, the direct action collective The Lesbian Avengers performed their first fire-eating to honor Hattie Mae Cohens and Brian Mock, who were killed in a homophobic fire-bombing attack. Over the years, they would stage protests through New York City, establish the NYC Dyke March, and form chapters throughout the country. The Finding Aid presents Lesbian Avengers Eat Fire, Too which documents the first year of The Avengers’ activity. March 4, 2026 at 7pm.
