The Fabric of Women in Tech Event
Our Journeys, Our Strength
We weren’t handed the blueprint—but we’ve been weaving the fabric anyway.
In this powerful and personal talk, Sarah Nell-Rodriquez unravels what it means to be a woman in tech, in leadership, and in systems that rarely see the full picture of our work. Using the metaphor of fabric, she explores how our stories, identities, and differences become stronger when they’re woven together—not hidden or flattened.
Through five truths from her journey—including growing beyond survival, letting go of old definitions of success, and reclaiming the thread of who you are—Sarah creates space for both reflection and reclamation.
This isn’t about being more polished or palatable. It’s about:
Redefining success on your terms
Owning your story, even the imperfect parts
Making space for other women without shrinking yourself
And learning that not every knot is yours to untangle
You’ll leave reminded that invisible work is still work, that vulnerability is strength, and that when women in data come together—we’re unbreakable.
Sarah Nell-Rodriquez is a data educator, customer success strategist, and the founder of Be Data Lit. With over two decades of experience leading teams and empowering professionals in data-adjacent roles, she’s on a mission to make data—and leadership—more human. Her work centers the people behind the platforms, especially women navigating roles they were never meant to survive in, let alone lead from. Through her signature programs like the LIT Leadership Academy, Sarah equips people to lead with clarity, compassion, and truth—and to stop faking it once and for all.
