Join this creative workshop for some stitching, chatting, and sharing inspired by the museum’s collections.

What you’ll get:

  • Techniques taught by professional artist Helen Mather
  • Specially designed resources to support learning and stitching
  • All materials provided for your creations

Inspiration:

This session will focus on the museum’s significant banner collection. Participants are invited to explore banners from the current Banner Exhibition and take a deeper dive into the meaning and relevance of these banners and how we relate to them.

In response to this session we will use discussion and textile processes to create individual and collaborative textile pieces, reflecting on what the banners mean to us today.

All textile abilities welcome, suitable for 11+ (under 18s must have an accompanying adult).

  • Not suitable for groups of more than five people
