This new night celebrates the genre of Folk, programmes top talent, and connects musicians to new audiences.

Introducing Staithe, the new musical project of Bridie Jackson and Nick Pierce, formerly the band ‘Brick’. Bridie is a songwriter (best known from the folk quartet Bridie Jackson and The Arbour) and Nick is a viola player. The duo started making music together during the first Lockdown of 2020, and they now write and produce ‘dreamy acoustic music’ with the occasional synth, from their home in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
**
Gaining a reputation for delighting audiences with their intimate and emotive live shows, the duo also self-produce and release their music to critical acclaim; since their first single release in 2023, they have enjoyed glowing reviews in NARC magazine and The Crack, received play on BBC Introducing Radio Newcastle and the music video for their single You’ll Make it Home was selected for Sunderland Shorts Film Festival and the BIFA accredited Women X Festival 2024.
As Brick, they have been regularly commissioned to compose bespoke sound installations and soundtracks for dance and theatre productions. Recent projects include collaborating with choreographer Jennifer Essex and TeesDance Ltd on the large scale dance production HOME, and creating the soundtrack for a contemporary dance production of The Little Prince for The Customs House, South Shields.
