The F Word offers lovers of Folk an opportunity to see top musicians, as well as hear establishing Folk artists share their music in the ‘floor spots’ ahead of the headline act. This new night celebrates the genre of Folk, programmes top talent, and connects musicians to new audiences.

Naomi Bedford and Paul Simmonds are a working musical duo, based in the folk and country roots genre. They have made 4 acclaimed albums and have toured widely, having appeared at Cambridge Festival, Glastonbury, and Celtic Connections, among others.
They have been nominated for a Radio 2 Folk Award (Best Original Song), and were featured as the Guardian Album of the Month in 2019 for 'Singing It All Back Home', their Appalachian Ballads album. This album was also featured in session on the Mark Radcliffe BBC Radio 2 show.
Paul is also the chief songwriter with legendary folk rock band The Men They Couldn’t Hang; his songs have featured in films, TV, radio and in academic resources. Naomi has co written and sung on ‘Funny Break’, a Top 20 hit with Orbital and has appeared on Later with Jools Holland.
Their most recent album 'Strange News Has Come To Town' appeared in the summer of 2024 and has recieved eager reviews. The F Word is thrilled to have them tour with us here at The Black Swan.
