About this Event

Join us on Wednesday, May 1st at 6:00pm for our first-ever author discussion and book signing, featuring New York Times best sellers Eric Kim and Matt Rodbard. This dicussion will be an intimate preview of our soon-to-open space, Vesper Books and Wine, and will be expertly moderated by Detroiter, chef, and all-around wonderful friend, Jon Kung.

Eric Kim is a New York Times staff writer and essayist born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. His debut cookbook, Korean American: Food That Taste Like Home, was an instant New York Times Best Seller. This book navigates not only what it means to be Korean-American, but how through food and cooking, Eric was able to "find some semblance of strength, exceptance and confidence to own his own story."

Matt Rodbard is a writer, editor, and author of food and culture books with more than two decades of experience working in television, magazines, book publishing, and online media. Matt released Koreatown in 2016 with fellow chef and author Deuki Hong, in which it is one of the most praised Korean cookbooks of all time. Deuki and Matt will be releasing a second cookbook this April 23rd, 2024, titled "Koreaworld", which will be a vibrant exploration of Korean cuisine, both in Korea and in Koreatowns around the globe.

Jon Kung is a popular Chinese-American chef, content creator, and podcast host. Jon recently released his debut cookbook, "Kung Food", focused on Chinese-American recipes from a third-culture kitchen. Kungfood is a national bestseller and was named Book Of The Year By Delish Magazine.

All three books (signed) will be available for pre-purchase through this eventbrite page.

There will be a general admission of $15 dollars which will include complementary wine, casamara club, and Korean fried chicken from Noori Pocha. Come party with us and celebrate these wonderful authors.
