Ed Randazzo is a much-celebrated, award-winning singer-songwriter from Northeastern Pennsylvania, an accomplished musician who was nominated for the Steamtown Music Award three times and won the Blues/Rhythm & Blues Act of the Year award in 2015. He contributed music to the 2017 documentary "Black Guides of Mammoth Cave" and has performed for and been featured on NPR.
In September 2008, Ed began collaborating with singer-songwriter, producer, and Pennsylvania music fixture Bret Alexander. Together, they have released three full-length albums and several notable singles, including "Ring Them Bells" (2008), "Still Cry" (2012), and "I Need a Woman" (2015). In the fall of 2018, they celebrated their ten-year working relationship by releasing "Who's that Man?: Collected Songs 2008-2018" in various formats, including a limited vinyl pressing.
Ed has also performed with many well-known artists, including Spencer Bohren, Gabriel Gordon, Alexis P. Suter, Mike Farris, and several local artists, such as Mike Miz, Dustin Douglas, Clarence Spady, Phyllis Hopkins, and Teddy Young. He has also been a featured performer at the annual Briggs Farm Blues Festival held in Central Pennsylvania as a solo artist and with his trio, Miner Blues.
Bret Alexander is based in Northeastern Pennsylvania. His career began as a studio engineer in the late 1980's. Here he met the members of what would become the band The Badlees, signed to Polydor/A&M in 1995 with Bret playing the role of principal songwriter/guitarist/multi-instrumentalist. Their self-produced album "River Songs" yielded two hit singles, "Fear of Falling" and "Angeline Is Coming Home" in 1996.
Bret has toured and shared the stage with Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, Bob Seger, The Band, The Allman Brothers, Edwin McCain, Live, The Gin Blossoms, and countless others. His work has been featured on The Winter Olympic Games, MTV, The Real World, Extra, The VMAs, Showtime, and in various films and TV shows. Bret also continues to be a sought-after engineer/producer. He has been recording and mentoring established and up and coming artists in his home state of Pennsylvania for over 30 years.
Along with his band The Badlees, Bret was inducted into the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame in July 2021. The band released its latest, self-titled album in December 2022. The Badlees were also inducted into The Luzerne County Pennsylvania Art & Entertainment Hall of Fame in October 2023. Today, Bret continues to perform with The Badlees, solo, and with various full-band configurations.
