The excavations at Arthur's Stone form part of the Beneath Hay Bluff Project which has been investigating early pre-historic sites in south-west Herefordshire since 2010 under the direction of Prof Keith Ray, honorary professor of archeology at Cardiff University, and Prof Julian Thomas of Manchester University. Last summer excavation work at Arthur's Stone revealed important new information, which Professor Ray will share with us. He will also tells us about the 230 mile walk he undertook in April 2024 to trace the route of the bluestone from Presili to Stonehenge. Prof Ray was formerly Herefordshire County Archeologist and makes a welcome return to Weobley History Society.Free for members. £3 for Guests.
