About this Event

Why Do I React So Strongly?
Learn to Regulate Your Emotions

Why do certain situations seem to trigger such an immediate reaction in us?

Why can we sometimes know intellectually that we want to stay calm — and still find ourselves reacting before we’ve had time to think?

And what does the body have to do with emotional regulation?

In this experiential mindfulness and emotional awareness class, we’ll explore how thoughts, body sensations, emotions and behaviours are connected — and why becoming more aware of what is happening inside us can help us respond to life with greater clarity and choice.

We’ll also look at the purpose of emotions, why they are not the enemy, and how learning to notice their early signals can help prevent us from becoming overwhelmed or reactive.

Through simple breathing, body-awareness and self-regulation practices, you’ll begin exploring how to create a little more space between what happens to you and how you respond.

The session concludes with an immersive guided meditative story designed to deepen the experience and bring the teachings to life in a memorable way.

What happens when we lose touch with the signals of the body?

Can we regulate emotions we are not fully aware of?

And how much can change when we learn to pause before reacting?

Come explore the questions for yourself.
