The Essential Nina Simone captures the power, emotion, and depth of one of music’s most remarkable voices. Liz Fletcher doesn’t imitate Simone — she reinterprets her work with sensitivity, passion, and a voice of rich, creamy beauty that brings goosebumps to any listener.
Expect stirring renditions of classics such as My Baby Just Cares for Me, Feeling Good, I Put a Spell on You, Sinnerman, and Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood — performed with the emotional drama and instinctive musicality that defined Nina’s legacy.
Liz has performed in leading jazz clubs and festivals across the UK, including Ronnie Scott’s, Pizza Express Dean Street, The Festival Hall, The Purcell Rooms, The 606 Club, and Glastonbury. She has also held a long-running residency at Boisdale Jazz and Cigar Club since its opening in 1999 and has worked with many of the UK’s finest jazz musicians, including Robin Aspland, Alan Barnes, Tony Coe, Jim Mullen, Andy Panayi, Marc Parnell, Julian Siegel, Matt Wates, and Gareth Williams.
