Disability is and has always been a natural part of the human experience. Our bodies—our lives—exist in a delicate, complex, and continuous relationality to the environments, cultures, and political landscapes surrounding us. This talk features student researchers Bella Zeit, Odin Ehrets, and Breanne Lessard from the Disability Justice Collective, a participatory action research team comprised of students with disabilities at UWW, and faculty mentor Assistant Professor Courtney Wilt. Students will share their insights and experiences with disability/ies in college and beyond, illuminating both UWW’s commitment to disability inclusion and the pitfalls of institutional ableism that affect us all. Presented by Courtney Wilt, Assistant Professor, Special Education and Bella Zeit, Odin Ehrets, and Breanne Lessard, Student Researchers as part of UW-Whitewater’s Fairhaven Lecture Series “Standing the Test of Time.” More information and full schedule: https://www.uww.edu/ce/fairhaven
