I’m excited to officially announce our next gathering: The Enchanted Forest.
This will be the first outdoor Gravity event we’ve ever held.
Featured activities will include:
• The Scholar Stone Project — painting calligraphy, poems, blessings, symbols, intentions, and messages onto smooth river stones inspired by the ancient tradition of scholar stones.
• Live music by Timothy Scallon.
• A community potluck.
• Our first-ever Gravity share circle.
• Exploration of the Beacon Food Forest and all the conversations, discoveries, and unexpected encounters that happen when good people gather in a beautiful place.
This event is a community effort, and I’m currently looking for:
• Potluck contributions
• Setup volunteers
• Cleanup volunteers
• Event stewards
• Art supplies and event materials
• Financial contributions to help cover event expenses
If you’d like to help, please comment below or send me a message.
One of the things I’m most excited about is our first Gravity share circle.
Many of our events have taken place in galleries, clubs, and public venues that were simply too loud for the kind of conversations Gravity was created to encourage. For the first time, we’ll have the space to sit together and actually talk.
Participation is entirely optional.
The share circle will be there for those who want it, but one of the beautiful things about the Food Forest is that there is room for many different kinds of connection to happen simultaneously.
Some people will be making art.
Some will be sharing food.
Some will be listening to Timothy perform.
Some will be exploring the gardens.
Some will be deep in conversation.
Throughout the evening, different constellations of people will form and reform across the landscape.
No single activity is the event.
The event is the community itself.
I hope you’ll join us.
