Curated by acclaimed local poet Michael Crane and supported by Arts Access, South Melbourne Community Chest, and the Palais Theatre Community Fund, this special festival brings words and music together in the intimate setting of our Emerald Hill Library.

From Tuesday 11 November to Tuesday 2 December, the library will come alive every Tuesday night at 6 pm with four evenings of poetry and song.

Alison Ferrier (musician) – Known for her evocative folk-blues and atmospheric country sound.

Carl Walsh (poet) – A neurodiverse poet whose work has been published widely, including in Meanjin and Westerly.


Tuesday 18 November at 6 pm

Charles Jenkins (musician) – An award-winning songwriter with over 20 albums and a sharp sense of lyrical wit.

Claire Gaskin (poet) – An acclaimed poet with multiple collections, supported by Creative Australia grants.

Rebecca Barnard (musician) – A celebrated singer-songwriter with a rich jazz and rock heritage, and a strong passion for community.

Dan Warner (poet/musician) – A Melbourne songwriter and performer, with a history in iconic local bands.

Greg Arnold (musician) – ARIA award-winning frontman of Things of Stone and Wood, named APRA Songwriter of the Year.

Michael Crane (poet) – A Melbourne poet and curator, author of 10 books and creator of the much-loved Poetry Idol series.
