SEATED CABARET WITH A DANCE FLOORThis ‘Revolver 60th’ show celebrates six decades since the release of an album that is considered by many to be the Beatles’ finest; its ground-breaking tracks such as ‘Taxman’, ‘Eleanor Rigby’ and ‘Tomorrow never knows’ were never played live by the Beatles themselves but you’ll hear these and many more songs from that album and more, performed by The Dung Beatles at The Chapel Arts Centre!
About the band: from dozens of chart-topping hits to classic, rarely played album tracks, The Dung Beatles blend authentic arrangements and top-drawer musicianship with high-energy performances. Such is the band’s reputation established over the last decade to prompt David Stopps (founder and promoter of the legendary Friars Club in Aylesbury) to rate them as “one of the best Beatles bands in the world”.
The band has played hundreds of gigs, from theatres to festivals to clubs, including Aylesbury’s Waterside (where they recently sold out the 1,100 seater auditorium), Chesham’s Elgiva theatres, and The Cavern in Liverpool. They have also been regular guests and live performers on BBC radio.
We prefer to be known as a ‘Beatles rock band’, rather than ‘tribute’, as there are no costumes, wigs, acting or backing tracks. As our name suggests we don’t take ourselves overly seriously, preferring to put all our efforts into doing the Beatles’ music the justice it deserves.”
The band has established quite a following over the years with many regulars coming time and again to their shows, among them hardcore fans who expect top-notch Beatles music. “We love playing the big hits of course, but we also relish doing the more rarely played album tracks.”
