The Dunes: A Performance Presented by Chimera Vanities & ROTTEN MOTHER
About this Event
The dining experience will be shaped by a series of scent trials, pulling select compounds from the fragrance, and replicating them through shared chemical families echoed in food ingredients. Through a series of objects, oils, and bodies; these selected scents will be diffused through the space, unveiling each of the five courses in this meal.
This performance is an experiment in sense perception. Guests are the variable.
Following the performance, the evening opens to the public for a cocktail hour featuring an open bar and live DJ sets. The Dunes will be available for purchase for the first time, alongside custom prints of the campaign.
Chimera is an independent craft project specializing in experimental fragrances and wearable artifacts. Founded by Felipe Urrutia, Chimera combines traditional craftsmanship with unconventional compositions to create limited-edition fragrances. Each creation alchemizes art, philosophy, memory, and material culture into a sensory experience.
ROTTEN MOTHER is a culinary art collective exploring the connection between food and art through edible installations. The project, led by Grace Heizer, serves as a liminal space for chefs and artists to cocreate through the delicate tension between transformation and decay, where fermentation flirts with rot.
Our presentation of The Dunes, is an exploration of the interconnectedness of both our practices: scent and taste.
