Looking for a way to wash out the old worries and refresh your soul? Nothing heals like live music, and we have something truly special coming to our sanctuary. On Sunday, January 25 at 4:00 PM, we are thrilled to host Herb Mallory & Friends for an afternoon of Soul, Rhythm, and Blues.

The Legacy of the Music This performance is part of the Fred and Beverly Dukes Memorial Concert Series. Fred and Beverly were deeply rooted in the Bakersfield community and longtime members of First Congregational Church. They shared a beautiful conviction: music should be available to everyone, not just the privileged few.

Their estate gift launched this series as a permanent gift to the city they loved. Because of their generosity, admission is completely free of charge. Their spirit lives on each season as neighbors gather, artists share their gifts, and a love for music unites us all.

About the Artist Herb Mallory truly lives by the motto: "Singing is my life!" From his early days in James Cleveland’s choir (alongside icons like Aretha Franklin) to performing with greats like Bobby Womack and Patti LaBelle, Herb brings a lifetime of melodious magic to the stage.
