Dream That Kicks October 26th 2025CINEMA EXIT
A mix of five films which pay homage, say farewell and are a celebration of artists who have recently died.
Paisaje Inquietante-Nocturnal José Antonio Sistiaga (1932-2023)
(ES / 1991 / 35mm / 14' 00)
A visual poem created with 167 transparent paintings with a Rachmaninoff soundtrack.
My Name Is Oona Gunvor Nelson (1931-2025)
(SE / 1969 / 16mm / 10' 00)
An evocative, masterful film featuring the artist’s daughter. The film is edited and rhythmically composed in sync with a spoken looped phrase. Oona evokes legends that draw from the vast reservoir of feminine myth.
Island Fuse Corine + Authur Cantrill (Corine 1928-2025)
(AU /1971 / 16mm / 11' 00 )
A film that focuses on the interaction of the elements that produced the film: the analysis projector, the camera and its various mechanisms; filters, the projector; the ribbon and the photograms; the operators.
Sphinx On The Seine Paul Clipson (1965-2018)
(US / 2009 / Super 8 to 16mm / 9' 00)
Images taken from around the world that geographically span thousands of miles and passages of time between each cut. Notions of time, space, and memory collide within a visual fabric of abstractions, landscapes, textures, superimpositions and graphic forms.
Light Year Paul Clipson (1965-2018)
(US/ 2013-2014 / 16mm / 10' 00)
A film-collage which studies the water systems and architecture of the San Francisco waterfront, in abstract and formal contexts. The musical score is by Tashi Wada.
