Performative Drawing is a vibrant new art form where artists create art from mark-making in front of a live audience. The creation process combining elements of line movement space and time is a celebration of energy and creativity.
The sixth international festival for performative drawing and painting is a cross-disciplinary project curated by the Draw to Perform director Ram Samocha at Phoenix Art Space Brighton. The festival will run over two weekends - Sat & Sun 9-10 & 16-17 July 2022 - and will include four workshops and ten live performances by inspiring and creative local and international artists.
This time the festival will be dedicated to exploring the transition from drawing to painting live and from two to three dimensions. It will explore the connection between drawing and performance art and the relevance of drawing as a modern art medium. The festival will focus on the various options of sharing the process of creating art live while drawing and painting with the audience. Disabled and non-disabled artists dancers and musicians young and elder participants will take part in dedicated live performances and workshops.

Draw to Perform is an international community for Drawing Performance. Since 2013 Draw to Perform has organized international festivals worked with and supported emerging and established artists held various events in collaboration with art institutions run educational residencies and workshops and provided online mentorships and meeting programs.
