Mark Woodyard is a multi instrument dance monster. While he performs frequently as a member of the Lazy Syrup Orchestra, his solo shows are increasingly sought after. Don’t try to pin down his style, just loose yourself to it. In direct support is Blac Asphalt, for his Downbeat debut. He has his finger on the pulse of club culture in our city, and is a student of the dance, drawing influence from underground dance culture from around the world. Opening the room we have emerging favourite, Mood Beach, who last graced our decks in direct support of Neighbour. We are sticklers for having DJs who can warm up a room just right, so please come down early to get pulled in by the pulse.

Often referred to as a “Human Jukebox”, Woodyard’s knowledge of music spans effortlessly across eras and genres. A multi-talented musician who uses looping machines, his voice and guitar, Woodyard is best known for his wide array of genre-bending covers that showcase his vocal range and eclectic sound creating truly unique and dance-inspiring performances. With no two shows sounding the same, Woodyard’s improv-esque style is reminiscent of a Reggie Watts and Marc Rebillet lovechild - a multi-instrumentalist who captivates audiences and sparks dancefloors seconds after taking to the stage.

You’ll never know where or when you’re going to see a blacasphalt set, much less run into him but it’s (insert some sort of pleasantry). Victoria born & raised, member of @resonance.vic, one of the dudes behind Dance Yrself Clean parties and most importantly, the Tintin poster (lYKYK). Hold no expectations on what to hear from him, just be ready to dance your ass off.

Mood Beach is a dance floor devotee who channels decades of movement into the booth. She shapes house music for any room; laid back, high energy, or late-night and lost-in-it. Depth defines her tracklist from deep house to deep tech offering fellow dancers a steady pulse they can trust.
