We are proud to welcome the world renowned curators of Shambhala’s Living Room Stage to rock our dance floor and grace our decks. The last time Lion-S played a set in Victoria it was to a sold out show curated by PrimitiveHustle (and Murph Productions) at Studio Robazzo. She has long been an island favourite and we can’t wait to have her at The Downbeat. Hoola’s sets are highly sought after by dancers and promoters alike. He is a disco aficionado who can bring a vintage aesthetic to his upfront soundsystem sets. He is one of those rare DJ’s who is your favourite DJ’s favourite, but will also rock whatever crowd is in front of him, honing in to what they are thirsty for in the moment. Rounding out this show will be Downbeat resident and DJ competion winner, Andrea Wolf- who will be bringing something special in direct support, and opening the night will be vibe specialist mr.b, who’s Quality Productions recently brought Foxy Moron and Vinyl Ritchie to melt our minds on his birthday.

Lion S, also known as Sara Spicer, is a respected pillar of the West Coast underground electronic music scene. With over 25 years of dedicaton, her journey began in the mid-90s and has since included curating sets and stages in renowned spaces—most notably The Living Room at Shambhala Music Festival. Her deep-rooted connection to music from a young age continues to influence her broad, genre-fluid style. Whether behind the decks or curating an experience, Lion-S is known for delivering meticulously tailored sets that align with the energy of the venue and the moment, all while radiating a confident, feminine presence.

Sara’s passion for her craft extends beyond performance. As a successful entrepreneur, she’s deeply involved in nurturing the dance music community across Canada and internationally. Her work as an event producer and curator is driven by a genuine love for supporting fellow artists—DJs, producers, and performers alike. Behind the decks, she thrives on the dynamic exchange with the dance floor, shaping sets organically in response to the crowd.

A founding member of Meow mix, the iconic all-female DJ crew from Nelson, BC, Sara has been instrumental in creating space and visibility for women in the industry for over two decades. She also collaborates with her brother Birdriot under the moniker Nür Tür, producing deep bass healing frequencies and immersive soundscapes that reflect her holistic connection to music as both art and energy.

Andrea Wolf (aka: Andrea Wolfson) is a Canadian DJ and emerging producer whose sound is a bold, genre-blending love letter to the UK undergrounD and beyond. Based in Victoria, Canada, she is on a personal mission to bring the pulse of garage, grime, dubstep, and jungle to Canada’s West Coast—placing UKG at the heart of the dance floor. Andrea has performed at festivals across Canada and at favourite local venues including Lucky Bar (Houseworx), Capital Ballroom, Herman’s Upstairs, and more.

In 2025, Andrea cemented her reputation as one to watch by winning the Vancouver Island DJ Competition. She now holds a residency at The Downbeat (formerly the iconic Hush nightclub). A trained therapist and Coach, Andrea approaches DJing as both an art and a healing practice. Her sets are curated with intentionality—inviting connection, emotional release, and collective joy. With a collaborative spirit, Andrea is passionate about building community on and off the decks. As one of the only women in Canada specializing in UKG and speed garage, her standout style is both innovative and craved. With her future sights set on playing the UK's Kindred, Rinse FM, Mix Mag and The Warehouse Project, for now she’s making Victoria a home for bassline magic—one dancefloor at a time.

mr.b’s uncompromising blend of house and breaks is not to be missed. B’s sets are best experienced long form. His real talent lies in teasing out the connections between the various strains of underground dance music he has been steeped in for the better part of his life. From House, Bass and Techno to Disco, Funk and Rock, often dusting off well-worn but forgotten favourites, Mr.B consistently delivers a smooth selection geared for discerning audiences. Over the years residencies in Calgary and Victoria and his long involvement with Shambhala Music Festival have honed his eclectic style- reminiscent of and inspired by legendary artists such as mr. scruff and Mark Farina. A veteran of Shambhala’s Village Stage since 2008, now working with the Living Room, his yearly sets have garnered a dedicated following of left field aficionados that yearn to lighten up the space.
