You’d be hard pressed to find a more fitting description of The Dirty Doves than what you’d find as Urban Dictionary’s top definition of a “Dirty Dove”: “Cute and cuddly as a dove, but down and dirty like a city pigeon.”When you put it that way, we’re all Dirty Doves at heart, aren’t we? A blending of the light and clean with some dirty, messy exploration.
But what does a Dirty Dove sound like, you ask? Allow for a musical demonstration by your new favorite rock & roll act. The Dirty Doves – Jamie Cunningham and Anthony Saturno – have created Pure & Simple, an album that’s somehow sweet, sultry, and serene. Hear it in the guitar and vocal harmonies on tracks like “Machu Picchu,” “Barcelona,” “Nobody’s Got The Time,” and the album’s title track, “Pure & Simple.”
The Syracuse natives have been cultivating their sound since before the pandemic – Hear it on the album’s opening track and first single, “Dragonfly,” as well as tracks like “Ms. White” and “The Flame.”
