Introducing… THE DINGLY BOYS!!
Named after a 1960s Dutch greaser gang with the most unfortunately pathetic name of all time; The Dingly Boys play a weird crazy spin on 50s/early 60s Rock’n’Roll.
Informed by equal parts humour, dementia, deep feeling, frustration, stupid ideas, spontaneity: heavily informed by the wrongest Haze backwoods rockabilly, JD Exploitation movies, dirty heavy Garagey Punk ala Sonics/Stooges/Link Wray etc, teen idol pop/Doo Wop, deep rootsy R’n’B Gospel Blues n that, weird novelty records... whatever tickles their fancy really!
Fronted by both CRAIG SHAW : legendary bluesy shouter & harp wailer on the rockin scene, absolutely legendary hero and tour de force but sometimes partially ostracised due to his Catholic (and thus scientifically correct) approach…..he returns to rock n roll with a vengeance and all the right notes (but not necessarily in the right order)
Alongside BRUNO BOF : teenage maniac extraordinaire and ascendant superstar frontman of his main act Bruno and the Outrageous Methods of Presentation.
Both playing lead and rhythm. Singing sometimes at the same time. Sometimes at different times. Songs are theirs. Solely written by each, sometimes co-written, and a few covers too.
They are backed up by MARK SPREX on drums : THEE SEASONED PRO OF ROCK N ROLL, has backed up all the old school greats, Dale Hawkins, Sonny Burgess, Tommy Bruce (!!!!), Jimmie Lee Maslon, Joe Clay and many more plus shared the stage with many primo superstars n that and been in many of his own name bands/projects of which there are too many to mention!
On Double Bass TOMISLAV BENSON : Croatian R’n’R journeyman!!!! Again what hasn’t he done. Played alongside & directly with many legends also, solo/projects etc of note and uhhh…..apparently he’s a film star as well, starring in Angelina Jolie’s film debut as some kind of Serbian War Crimina.
Anyway it’s gonna be great and rockin!!!!!
