About this Event
Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation in association with the Ralph Kerle Gallery presents
The Difference Between Perception and Sight: How We Make Sense of Our WorldVision provides over 50% of how we perceive the world. It is the prime source for the brain in its search for meaning in the moment. Yet as a result of the way the eye sees the moment and transfers the information to the synapses in the brain, we create illusions that are far from the reality we are actually seeing.
Join us for an evening of intrigue, illusion, and sense-making as Dr Con Petsoglou, Ophthalmologist Sydney Eye Hospital, Medical Director NSW Tissue Bank and Senior Lecturer, Sydney University and Ralph Kerle, renowned Australian fine art photographer explore how our brain works to make visual sense of our worlds and how Kerle’s own impaired sight has aided him in creating a unique style of photographic artworks that are based on visual illusion.
