There's something about Devon that brings out the author in us. Or something about authors that are drawn to Devon. Either way, we are a county full of storytellers, writers & poets. Let's get to know a few of them.
Join five Devon-based (or Honorary Devonian) authors as they read for five minutes each from one of their recent books. From cosy crime to action adventure to gritty thrillers and poetry, you're bound to discover something new & unexpected. Mingle with the authors afterwards and pick up a book or two if inspired.
The line-up:
🎉 Michael Whyatt Brookes: retired from the RAF and started writing fiction based on his eclectic experiences [Torquay]
🎉 Helena Dixon: author of the Miss Underhay cosy crime series set in 1930's and 1940's Devon [Brixham]
🎉 Kate Evans: writer of the DC Donna Morris series [visiting from Scarborough, honorary Devonian for a day]
🎉 Jackie Juno: award-winning poet and performer [Bovey Tracey]
🎉 Jonathan Posner: writer of action adventure novels set in Tudor England with feisty female heroines [Exeter]
