About this Event
This down-to-earth workshop puts pets before profit
If you’re sick of over-priced gurus, social media circle j*rks, armchair experts, or you’re tired of the same regurgitated lectures straight from an ‘80s textbook - then this 2-day hybrid workshop is made for you and your demanding dog. This is not a cheap workshop - but it is affordable. Dog training and behavioural coaching can often be expensive, meaning only certain demongraphics can afford quality education. This workshop is my rebellion to that. F*uck capitalism. Help dogs.
TIMES
Online theory @1900 (~1hour) Saturday 21st March 2026
In-person practical session @1100 (~90mins) Sunday 22nd March 2026
Community centred, judgement free, and actually affordable experience is for any dedicated guardian of a demanding dog of any dis/ability - whatever your situation.
- Saturday evening we get together online for a relaxed theory session. This is structured as ~30min dynamic presentation, followed by an open-floor
- Sunday morning is our in-person session in Stirling, where we actually train our dogs in a real-world environment for the start of real success (~2 hours)
- (BTW you’re totally welcome to just attend the recorded remote session)
Relaxed discussion of essential dog theory - this won’t be the usual reward and punishment stuff that’s leaves you micromanaging your dog’s behaviour for months on end.
Friendly and practical real-world skills session - this isn’t just talk. We’ll go out and practice, and actually see real success. And since this is a small group, it’ll actually be partly personalised to you.
We’ll discuss the theory behind, and then actually practice, the big four topics:
- Windows of behaviour as the foundation for real and lasting behaviour change
- Reliable routines to build genuine calm confidence
- Building meaningful behaviours that will lead your dog through life; especially play
- Stopping risky behaviours safely to find genuine freedom (even off-leash)
Who’s leading the workshop?
My name is Aaron, from K9 Contact and the Demanding Dog Group. And you can put google down, I’m not famous or an international dog sports star. I’m a real person, with real dogs, living a real life, and I’m trying my best. Which I bet is something we have in common, that’s what matters.
Yes. I’ve been working with dogs my entire life, and while that has given me a keen understanding of dog behaviour, its my unusually broad academic and professional background that makes the difference. I specialise in how learning really works.
That’s why what is packed into this short workshop feels so fresh. And why I’m so confident it will help you, as its helped other demanding dogs and their people before -
"I liked that the group was small and the theory behind what we were doing was explained. Some classes have so many people and dogs it can be hard to get time with the trainer if you need help with something. There are also a lot of classes out there with a Simon Says attitude who don't want to or can't explain the theory behind what you're being told to do." Arya, Glasgow
"It was just a nice positive environment with no judgement which is unusual in dog classes/sport. Mine really enjoyed the classes and got excited in car at kings park. A lot of fun with other people who want to train their dogs." Toby & Harry, Alloa
"Aaron takes the time to explain everything in as much or as little detail as you want. He's willing to train your dog anyway you would like - as he says, 'there are lots of different ways to train a dog, it's about finding the right one for you and your dog!'" Luna, Bannockburn
"Genuinely there is nothing I would change about the session. Aaron went at a pace I was happy with, addressed all concerns, offered advice on queries I had. I have no hesitation in recommending Aaron." Begbie, Dunblane
"Aaron’s strengths for us were patience and knowledge! Very informed young man and patient with us (working couple often struggling to find the time...) With Aaron’s knowledge , patience and training we can now walk our dog with minimal pull and having trained with the whistle, she now comes back very consistently." Luna, Larbert

Nerdy notes: This will be the (as far as we can tell) first dog training workshop in Scotland that takes an ecological dynamics approach to behaviour and development, rather than more common but far less convincing conditioning and cognitive frameworks. If you've found yourself banging heads off walls trying to navigate what 90% of the industry are talking about, then I'd like to strongly recommend joining us for the workshop.
We'll discuss how focusing on mindset rather than micromanaging behaviours organises restless and stressed dogs. How this and routine leads to calm confidence even in difficult and novel situations. How putting play at the centre of our relationship with our dogs is the backbone of a fulfilling life (more than just satisfying drives). And finally how to prevent risky behaviours, stop them when they do happen, and how clear corrections might just be the secret to a more confident dog.
