Knife fighting and self defense class designed and taught by women for women. The Defensive Blade is a knife self defense developed with the goal of surviving and escaping a violent attacker who is bigger and stronger. There are many knife systems that do this but we will also cover the psychological and emotional attacks involved, because in most cases it isn’t a stranger attacking you, it is someone known.
In this class we discuss the attacker/ victim psychology, how body language can betray intent, using the blade, footwork, and the environment to maintain distance, how to use and hold the blade, how to keep from being disarmed, and to what extent you are legally entitled to protect yourself.
All training equipment will be provided. Participants should wear full length workout pants or tights, and a long sleeve or rash guard shirt. Jewelry such as rings, bracelets, long necklaces, long earrings or other body piercings that risk getting tangled or caught, should not be worn.
Class fee is $30 per person. We will have 10 slots available for this class and is appropriate for ages 13 and up.
