About this Event
An interactive storytelling session at Kinning Park Complex
What happens when a community decides not to leave?
Thirty years ago, the people of Kinning Park did exactly that. Faced with the closure of their local space, they stayed. They organised. They held the doors open and in doing so, changed the future of the building and the community around it.
This session is a chance to step back into that moment.
Through interactive storytelling, we’ll explore what it might have felt like to be there, the conversations, the uncertainty, the small decisions that built into something bigger. This isn’t a history lecture. It’s a shared story, shaped by the people in the room.
You don’t need any experience. You can take part as much or as little as you like. We’ll build the story together, using simple prompts and guided questions to bring the past to life in an accessible and supportive way.
Together, we’ll imagine:
- What the Complex was like 30 years ago
- Who was there, and why it mattered
- What it took to stand your ground
- And what might have happened next
At its heart, this is a session about people, place, and the power of community.
Come along, take part, and help tell the story of The Day We Stayed.
Please note this session is open to over 18s only.
