The Darlings Family Trust are from Gordon, Victoria. With acoustic fingerstyle guitar songs alongside sprawling stories sung in unison harmonies, The Darlings Family Trust root themselves in Folk music whilst dashing in and out of genres like Blues, Indie-folk and Country.
TDFT have opened for bands Fanning Dempsey National Park, The Davidson Brothers, The Slingers, Skyscraper Stan, Hana and Jessie Lee’s Bad Habits, The Smith and Western Jury and Slim Krusty.
Smith & Cohen - who made music together for many years as Sodastream before reemerging under their own names - cut their teeth playing in Fitzroy pubs in the late 90s, as they were also building their following across Europe. In 2025 they released their album Half Life, a collection of warm, intimate songs that trace the shape of modern life: friendship, parenthood, heartbreak, hope, and the slow work of making peace with where you've landed. Expect textured, melodic folk built around guitar, double bass and close harmonies.
