About this Event
A Hybrid Walking Tour and Magic Show! A unique experience unlike any other.
Edinburgh has a long history of witchcraft, occult sorcery, and stage magic. This tour combines all three, as we take you through the closes and wynds of the ancient old town to discover the horrors of history and the tricksters of today.
Told through macabre stories and live magic performance, from a professional magician, in a combined walking tour and magic show.
The tour will end at The Banshee Labyrinth, Scotland's Most Haunted Pub, where over 18s can head inside to check out the 18th century Underground Vaults that make up the pub, grab one of their many cocktails on sale, or spend the rest of the night relaxing in their cinema watching classic and modern movies until 3am!
Hear the bizarre tales of
- The Century of Blood - how the witch hunts began.
- Angelic Thomas - the strange Wizard of the Westbow
- Edinburgh’s Castle Dracula
- Magic in the history of Edinburgh
- The magician who died twice ... and more.
How does it work?
- You need to book tickets online, there are no on-street sales. But you can book right up until we depart.
- The Tour is suitable for younger people, though we recommend 13 and over as long as they are with a paying adult.
- Sorry, but the pub at the end if strictly over 18s, but don't worry the tour itself ends in the centre of the Old Town and you won't miss any stories.
- Experience an ancient Graveyard, old Wynds, close-up illusions, and an experience like no other with a professional magician guide.
- It's a walking tour, in Scotland, so dress accordingly!
- The tour is in English, but magic can go beyond language.
Some FAQs
- Is it child-friendly? The tour is best described as mature due to the content, and we recommend 13 and over, but if you feel your younger little one can handle it, you're welcome to bring them along. But don't blame us if some stories raise uncomfortable questions!
- Is there a lot of walking? The walking covers about a mile in total. This covers a lot of areas thanks to Edinburgh being a small city, but consider it will involve some hills, and narrow walkways, some steps, as well as grassy areas, and crossing roads.
- What type of magic can we expect? All of the demonstrations connect in with the stories being told, expect spooky seance magic, mind reading, and some gross stunts.
- Is it more magic, or witchcraft, or stories? It's a fairly equal balance of all.
- Can we get a refund? Unfortunately tickets are non-refundable except where the tour is cancelled.
