The story of 30 years as an acrobat, this one-woman variety show stitches together acrobatics, dance, physical comedy and spoken word to form the image of life as a circus performer – and what happens to the body and mind in the process. From training with world-renowned Master Lu Yi as a child to performing at the Church of Scientology, the story is full of unexpected twists and revelations, both hilarious and poignant.
"Exemplifies what can happen when you don't fetter an artist's individual expression. [She has] the poetic eye of an anthropologist of whimsy" (San Francisco Chronicle).
Appropriate for all ages!
The show will take place in Circus Center's theater at 755 Frederick St. Please note that it is not ADA accesible. Feel free to reach out to Circus Center with any questions about their building or accomodations at [email protected]
This presentation of the show is the "touring version," so if you have seen the show in SF before it will be a different experience. Not only has the show evolved in the touring process, but all of the music has been replaced by songs from local Bay Area musicians John Steven Morgan, Van Goat and Cardboard People.
This show is in collaboration with the Citizen Joy project. Find out more here: https://citizenjoy.org
