The Curious Naturalist: Creepy Crawlers

We're celebrating things that have too many legs — things some might call "creepy crawlers." Explore the world of these fascinating creatures and learn more about their role in nature. Get up close and personal with some live speciments while learning about their unique behaviors and habitats. This event is perfect for adults, nature lovers and nerds who just love to learn.

Doors open at 5:30pm at Wild Child Wines and our first speaker will start at 6pm. Space is very limmited so seats will be reserved until 6pm for the first 30 who register. At 6pm, we will let anyone standing in the audience grab a seat and begin the lecture.

Our main presenter, Steven Barney from Safari Station, will be sharing facts about arachnids and insects in Louisiana. Adding an artistic twist, blacksmith and metal artist Elizabeth Belz will showcase her metal insect sculptures and talk about her projects happening at the Halloween Arts & Nature Festival.

The Curious Naturalist is a lecture series by Acadiana Master Naturalists. Our co-host for this session, Atelier de la Nature, will also share teasers about the Halloween Art & Nature Festival.
