St John’s choir performs John Stainer’s classic cantata, The Crucifixion: A Meditation on the Sacred Passion of the Holy Redeemer, on Sunday, 30 March, at 3pm, in the church. This cantata has been a staple of Lenten concerts since its debut in London in 1887, the evocative text and dramatic music focusing on the suffering and death of Christ. Benjamin Kolodziej, Organist and Choirmaster, conducts; Katie Jarrett, Assistant Organist and Choirmaster, is featured organist. This concert is free and all are invited. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
