About this event:
The first day of winter in the Northern Hemisphere is marked by the winter solstice, which occurs on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. This solstice is marked by the dance between the poles of light and dark: the winter solstice is the shortest day of the year with the longest night.
While the winter season represents the Yin qualities of slowness, reflection, and receptivity, this season also marks the cyclical return to sunlight. It's no wonder Winter Solstice themes are Rebirth and Renewal.
The last two Wednesdays of the year we will meet on our mats to honor the darkness. To slow down despite holiday mania. To pause and reflect so that our forward motion may be filled with intention.
Enjoy this Yoga practice that involves calming pranayama techniques and Yin- and Yang-style yoga postures.
About the Instructor:
Jessica Navarro (Jeka) is a 200hrs Registered Yoga Teacher who found her love for yoga on her late twenties.
She started her mindful transformation through a group of friends that inspired her to find the best version of herself by looking inward and investing in her physical and mental health.
After 2 years of practicing yoga regularly, she decided to start her teacher training with Mimi Ghandour and graduated as a RYT on December 2021.
Shortly she began to offer private and community classes, and started managing Yoga Events here at The Creative Yard.
In February 2022, Jessica took her Advanced Professional Teacher Training with Paul Tolliuszis to deepen her practice and continue paving her path as an instructor.
In May 2022, Jeka completed a Healing Words Course where she got certified to lead guided meditations.
You can find Jeka here every Wednesday at 7 pm, where she shares her breath, energy, and yoga with a beautiful community.
