About this Event

Let's create a vibrant oasis above ground where community, creativity and nature flourish! Adults and children are welcome at the workshop days with delicious food from Vegan Bear Chef!

Get your tickets for one (or more!) of the following workshops:

SEPTEMBER 22

14h-16h | Ink from Plants by (SP/EN): Explore the fascinating world of botanical healing with this workshop on plants and medicine. Delve into the science of medicinal plants, learning about their uses, benefits, and historical significance. This workshop will cover topics such as herbal medicine, plant identification, and the preparation of natural remedies. Gain practical skills in creating herbal tinctures, teas, and salves, and understand the principles of holistic health. These courses provide a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, empowering you to harness the power of nature for wellness and healing.

14h-16h | [KIDS 6-10 years old] Colored Clay Garden by (EN/NL): Together we make a small garden from colorful clay filled up with beautiful flowers and trees, maybe a tent or a treehouse, an animal or a playground. The kids can also imagine a hill or a water pond, whatever they can think of. Each kid will make his/her own clay objects that we will bring together little by little into a beautiful garden. At the end we will place collective sculpture in the creative garden.

Followed by a discussion about everything you need to know about bees and their care by Jeroen Worst [EN/NL]

OCTOBER 6

Garden Party! Community celebration with music, a food market & lunch!

12h-14h | Lunch by Vegan Bear Chef

14h-16h | [KIDS from 10 years old] Clay Color Tiles by (EN/NL): Print herbs and flowers on ceramic tiles, and paint them with colored clay. To discover the nature around us, the kids will use clay to create small plates (tiles). They will imprint leaves and flowers into the clay surface based on individual choice, and later make it part of a 3D installation. There will be plenty of flowers and plants to choose from, allowing each kid to express their own creativity in many different ways.

14h-16h | The Ecology of Poetry by Kelly Mullins and Jamie Rhiannon Fehribach (EN): Ecology, the study of how organisms relate to one another and their surroundings, is often about the natural world. In this Creative Garden workshop, however, we will study the Ecology of Poetry! Join poets Kelly Mullins and Jamie Rhiannon Fehribach as we practice observing the natural world and using the lessons of nature to deepen our writing. We will reflect on how we relate to one another as well as to the world around us as we write about themes of connection and disconnection, creation and destruction, and more, using both individual and collaborative writing practices.

16h-18h | Music by Treehouse’s musicians
