The story of the Great Lakes begins millions of years ago, and continues as an ongoing process. Over time the lakes have grown and changed, affected by rifting continents and mile-high glaciers. The lakes have witnessed some of the largest mammals to walk the earth and the earliest humans to venture into the region. Join us as we look at the processes that formed the Great Lakes and their environments.
Presenter: Katy Swanson is a naturalist at Love Creek County Park. She has created programs for Love Creek on geology, fossils and waterways. When she’s not combing the beach for interesting rocks and fossils or hiking local trails, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Joel, and cat, Sophie.
