🎥 Meet American director Zach Cregger, who is currently filming the next instalment of the Resident Evil film series in Prague. A distinctive genre filmmaker, he rose to fame with his 2022 feature Barbarian and is now enjoying worldwide success with his horror epic Weapons. In a discussion with film journalist Viktor Palák and director Jan Vejnar, he will explore how horror cinema builds tension, atmosphere, and fear. The program will also include a screening of Weapons. The discussion will be held in English without translation.

Zach Cregger (b. 1981) is an American writer, director, and actor. He co-founded the comedy troupe The Whitest Kids U’Know, which ran a popular TV series from 2007–2011. He co-wrote, co-directed, and starred in Miss March (2009), before moving into TV and film acting. Cregger earned major recognition as the writer-director of the horror hit Barbarian (2022), followed by Weapons (2025), which grossed over 250 million USD and was acclaimed by both critics and audiences. He is currently working on a new Resident Evil feature film for Sony.

Zach Cregger (nar. 1981) je americký režisér, scenárista a herec. Spoluzaložil komediální skupinu The Whitest Kids U’Know, která měla v letech 2007–2011 úspěšný televizní seriál. Spolu s Trevorem Moorem napsal a režíroval komediální snímek Miss March (2009), poté se věnoval herectví v TV a celovečerních filmech. Zásadní průlom zaznamenal jako scenárista a režisér hororu Barbar (2022), na který navázal snímkem Hodina zmizení (2025). Ten celosvětově utržil přes čtvrt miliardy dolarů a získal nadšené ohlasy jak od diváků, tak od kritiků. Nyní v Praze připravuje natáčení dalšího dílu ze série Resident Evil.
