THE COVIDS (NL)
A new band from Amsterdam bringing you some extremely contagious punkrock!
The band started during the first pandemic lockdown in The Netherlands, so they decided to take the name “The Covids” as a badge of honour. Some of their live shows which were planned in this period were postponed 13(!) times because of ongoing restrictions.
But in the fall of 2021 they finally exploded onto the stage with fire and fury. Their love for ’77 punkrock and more pop-oriented styles result in a unique and irresistible sound: catchy, raw and energetic. Singer Mehdi is a frenetic frontman with muscular melodies backed by a powerhouse drummer (Sid), slashing guitar riffs (Paul) and guttural bass lines (Max).
After taking the Dutch underground scene by storm, the band is ready to ‘superspread’ their sound all over Europe!
The band has released their first single "Certified (Do it) in 2022 and debut album "Bust to Bits" in 2023 on Wap Shoo Wap Records.
This May they will release their new single “Banned From The USA”.
