Located in the heart of downtown Monterey, this beloved annual celebration invites guests to leave the ordinary behind and experience an unforgettable evening inspired by the intrigue and excitement of the Roaring ‘20s.

The all-inclusive celebration begins at 7pm on Thursday, December 31, 2026, and features an open bar, lavish buffet dinner, live entertainment, dancing, and a sparkling champagne toast as the clock strikes midnight. Dressed in your finest 1920’s inspired attire, you'll be transported to a hidden prohibition-era hideaway filled with alluring décor, lively music, handcrafted cocktails, and an atmosphere buzzing with anticipation for the year ahead.

Exclusively for guests 21 and over, this extraordinary evening offers a high-energy celebration, creating the perfect setting to gather with friends, make lasting memories, and welcome 2027 in true Speakeasy style!

OPEN BAR ALL NIGHT

While prohibition in the 1920s gave rise to the infamous speakeasies, the open bars at this Monterey New Year’s Eve event won’t require a password! Guests will enjoy exclusive access to open bars throughout the evening - sip your way through a refined selection of wines, handcrafted cocktails, rich cordials, and ice-cold beer. Raise a glass, dance the night away, and ring in the New Year with all the glamour, intrigue, and excitement of a true roaring '20s speakeasy.

ENTERTAINMENT

The Alison Sharino Band will bring the ballroom to life with contagious energy, keeping the crowd dancing all night long. Join fellow partygoers on the dance floor and celebrate into the New Year with an evening of nonstop dancing. Known for their versatility and high-energy performances, the Alison Sharino Band will play a mix of hit songs spanning five decades, from the 1970s through the 2020s. Before the night ends, capture the memories at the photo booth provided by The Vintage PhotoBox™.

THE MENU

Step into the glamour and intrigue of a Speakeasy-inspired New Year’s Eve as the evening begins with a lively opening reception designed to transport guests back to the roaring twenties in beautiful Monterey.

Guests will indulge in a lavish buffet dinner featuring an irresistible spread of parmesan whitefish with creamy lobster nage, bootleg bourbon glazed BBQ rib eyes, and herb crusted Mary’s chicken with sundried tomato artichoke champagne beurre blanc. Flavorful accompaniments like haricot vert almandine green beans, truffle parmigiana au gratin potatoes and other elevated sides complete the feast, all enjoyed in a setting that blends coastal charm with hidden-lounge sophistication.

For dessert, satisfy your sweet side with a variety of decadent treats. As the clock ticks closer to midnight, late-night bites keep the party going — perfectly paired with handcrafted cocktails, dancing, and the smooth sounds of the era for a dazzling night to remember.

ATTIRE

Recommended evening attire includes period pieces with glitz and glam like flapper dresses with fringe and beading, and elaborate accessories like gemstones or feathers. Art deco patterns, three-piece suits, fedoras, and flat caps all offer guests a means to use fashion to express themselves through style. While iconic with 1920s gangster attire, fake guns or weapons are not permitted at this event.

On-site parking is available at the Portola Hotel for an additional fee. Parking rates are not included in the New Year’s Eve ticket price.
