The Law School's Postgraduate Corporate Governance Club invites you to meet Dr Akshaya Kamalnath in a discussion of her forthcoming book.
About this Event

Diversity in the corporation and specifically on the board has become an important corporate governance issue in recent times. Dr Akshaya Kamalnath argues in her forthcoming book (The Corporate Diversity Jigsaw), that the aspiration should be to ensure there is diversity in the entire corporation rather than just the board. Specifically, the chapter on firm culture argues that culture at all levels of the company is crucial for attracting and retaining diverse talent and discusses a range of ways by which companies can cultivate good culture.

Dr Akshaya Kamalnath is a senior lecturer at the Australian National University, College of Law. She has law degrees from New York University (LLM), Deakin University (PhD), and NALSAR India (BA.LLB(Hons)). Akshaya's research and teaching interests focus on the broad themes of corporate law, corporate governance, corporations and society, and corporate insolvency and her work is often comparative in nature. She blogs at The Hitchhikers Guide to Corporate Governance.

This event is open to all UoB Postgraduate students and staff.

After the discussion there will be refreshments and a chance to meet informally.
