Sharing a united motivation for wider musical exploration beyond a single genre, Simon Herberholz and James Mackay possess the mature ability to patiently take risks whilst co-habiting in harmony within the same sonic space.
Presenting a mixture of each other's original compositions, you can expect the musical story of this set to deliver both cliff hangers and meditative pasture.
Mario Caribe & Ewan Hastie
Despite being a debut performance for this duo, their musical partnership goes back to Ewan's earlier days as a student of Mario, who previously was nicknamed "The Ace of the Bass" in the Scotsman. Now based in London with his own highly acclaimed career, Ewan comes back to Scotland to join his well-respected former mentor for a fun and rare take on the double bass duo.
This set is a celebration of friendship and artistry surrounding the double bass, featuring personal compositions and rarely performed music from bass history!
